ABSTRACT

Perfluorinated compounds, especially Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), are widely detected in water environments in China. Considering the potential health risks of drinking water exposure routes, PFOA and PFOS have been added to the water quality reference index of the newly issued "Standards for Drinking Water Quality (GB5749-2022)", with limit values of 40 and 80 ng/L, respectively. This study analyzed and discussed the relevant technical contents for determining the limits of the hygiene standard, including the environmental existence level and exposure status of PFOA and PFOS, health effects, derivation of safety reference values, and determination of hygiene standard limits. It also proposed prospects for the future direction of formulating drinking water standards.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate the nutritional status by the Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score and its association with the long-term prognosis in patients with acute heart failure (AHF). Methods: This prospective monocentric study consecutively enrolled patients admitted to our hospital for AHF from April 2012 to May 2016. Patients were divided into 3 groups based on the CONUT score at admission: normal (0-1), mild malnutrition (2-4) and moderate-severe malnutrition (5-12) groups. Baseline information was obtained and recorded within 24 hours after admission. All patients were followed up every 3 months by outpatient visit or telephone call until March 2019. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality. The Kaplan-Meier survival curves and log-rank test were used to compare all-cause mortality between groups. Variables showing statistical significance in the univariate analysis were incorporated into multivariate Cox regression model to analyze the independent risk factors for all-cause mortality after discharge. Results: A total of 396 patients were enrolled in this study, including 114 patients with normal nutritional status, 200 patients with mild malnutrition and 82 patients with moderate-severe malnutrition. One hundred and fifty-eight patients died during a median follow-up of 34 (18, 46) months. The mortality was 32.4% (37/114), 39% (78/200) and 52.4% (43/82) in normal, mild malnutrition and moderate-severe malnutrition groups, respectively. The mortality was significantly higher in the moderate-severe malnutrition group than in normal nutrition group (P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in mortality between normal and mild malnutrition group as well as between mild and moderate-severe malnutrition group (both P>0.05). Kaplan-Meier curves indicated that patients with high CONUT score group was at higher risk of all-cause mortality compared with those with low CONUT score (P=0.002). Cox proportional hazard analyses showed that the risk of all-cause mortality of moderate-severe malnutrition group was significantly higher than that of normal nutrition group (HR =1.648, 95%CI 1.021-2.660, P=0.041). Conclusions: The CONUT score of patients with AHF at admission is associated with the long-term prognosis. High CONUT score is an independent risk factor for all-cause mortality in AHF patients after discharge.

ABSTRACT

To investigate the effects of liraglutide combined with vitamin D on high-fat-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) mice and its potential mechanism. Methods: C57BL/6 mice were divided into control group, NAFLD model group, liraglutide group, vitamin D group and liraglutide combined with vitamin D group. Each group consisted of 10 mice. The control group was fed with normal diet for 12 weeks; the model group was fed with high-fat diet for 12 weeks; the liraglutide group, vitamin D group and combined group were fed with high-fat diet for 12 weeks, From the 9th week, the three groups of mice were intraperitoneally injected with liraglutide (0.6 mg/kg), vitamin D(250 mg/(kg·d) ) by gavage, and combination. After 12 weeks of feeding, the blood and liver tissues of mice in each group were collected for biochemical and pathological examination, and the phosphorylation level of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in liver tissues of mice in each group was detected by immunoblotting. Liraglutide or vitamin D alone or in combination could improve liver lipid accumulation (triglycerides: 6.0±0.7 vs 3.8±0.3, 3.9±0.3 and 2.1±0.2, all P<0.05; cholesterol: 1.4±0.5 vs 0.9±0.2, 0.8±0.2 and 0.5±0.1, all P<0.05) and steatosis (NAFLD activity score: 2.4±0.3 vs 1.0±0.2, 0.9±0.1 and 0.6±0.1, all P<0.05) in NAFLD mice. In addition, compared with liraglutide or vitamin D group, liraglutide combined with vitamin D treatment was more effective, and might be related to the regulation of insulin resistance and AMPK phosphorylation. The results showed that vitamin D could enhance the therapeutic effect of liraglutide on NAFLD induced by high fat, and may be related to the regulation of insulin resistance and AMPK phosphorylation.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#Clinical assessment and treatment guidance for heart failure depends on a variety of biomarkers. The objective of this study was to investigate the prognostic predictive value of growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15) and N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in assessing hospitalized patients with acute heart failure (AHF).@*METHODS@#In total, 260 patients who were admitted for AHF in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University were enrolled from April 2012 to May 2016. Medical history and blood samples were collected within 24 h after the admission. The primary endpoint was the all-cause mortality within 1 year. The patients were divided into survival group and death group based on the endpoint. With established mortality risk factors and serum GDF-15 level, receiver-operator characteristic (ROC) analyses were performed. Cox regression analyses were used to further analyze the combination values of NT-proBNP and GDF-15.@*RESULTS@#Baseline GDF-15 and NT-proBNP were significantly higher amongst deceased than those in survivors (P < 0.001). In ROC analyses, area under curve (AUC) for GDF-15 to predict 1-year mortality was 0.707 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.648-0.762, P < 0.001), and for NT-proBNP was 0.682 (95% CI: 0.622-0.738, P < 0.001). No statistically significant difference was found between the two markers (P = 0.650). Based on the optimal cut-offs (GDF-15: 4526.0 ng/L; NT-proBNP: 1978.0 ng/L), the combination of GDF-15 and NT-proBNP increased AUC for 1-year mortality prediction (AUC = 0.743, 95% CI: 0.685-0.795, P < 0.001).@*CONCLUSIONS@#GDF-15, as a prognostic marker in patients with AHF, is not inferior to NT-proBNP. Combining the two markers could provide an early recognition of high-risk patients and improve the prediction values of AHF long-term prognosis.@*CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRATION@#ChiCTR-ONC-12001944, http://www.chictr.org.cn.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To explore the feasibility of using computer-aided design(CAD) combined with 3D printing technology to repair and reconstruct the comminuted fracture of the posterior wall of acetabulum with osteochondral defect, to evaluate the biomechanical properties of composite titanium nitride bioceramic coatings with porous titanium alloy scaffolds and steel plate integrated implants.@*METHODS@#Based on CT images of continuous tomography, the computer-aided design software was used to construct a digital model of porous titanium alloy plate implant with a specially open cellular three-dimensional structure, and the three-dimensional implant was prepared with Ti6Vl4V powder by using the 3D printing technology, following by titanium nitride coating on its articular surface. The degree of matching and attachment between the implant and acetabulum were observed; Ansys software was used for finite element modeling to analyze the stress distribution, stress conduction and deformation displacement of the acetabulum of the normal group, the traditional group and the implant group under the same load state, and to verify the biomechanical properties of the implant.@*RESULTS@#The porous titanium alloy implant fit well with the acetabular bone defects, the shape of the plate was well attached to the bone surface, and it was rated as excellent according to the Matta criteria. The Von Mises stress peak of the implant group 13.38 MPa was close to the normal group 13.11 MPa and smaller than that in the traditional group 15.66 MPa. The Von Mises stress distribution and conduction of implant group were basically consistent with the normal group, slightly better than the traditional group; the maximum relative displacement of the implant was 0.166 mm, according to the finite element analysis.@*CONCLUSIONS@#The porous titanium alloy stent plate implant with titanium nitride coating prepared by 3D technology has excellent matching degree and biomechanical properties; the anatomical reconstruction makes the stress distribution and conduction recovery well, close to normal hip joints, which provides a new option for the clinical treatment of comminuted posterior acetabular wall fractures with severe bone defects.

ABSTRACT

Background@#The impact of fasting plasma glucose (FPG) on survival outcomes in patients with acute heart failure (HF) is unclear, and the relationship between intensity of glycemic control of FPG in diabetes mellitus (DM) patients and HF prognosis remains uncertain. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the prognostic impact of FPG in patients with acute HF.@*Methods@#A total of 624 patients hospitalized with acute HF from October 2000 to April 2014 were enrolled in this study. All patients were stratified by three groups according to their admission FPG levels (i.e., DM, impaired fasting glucose [IFG], and non-DM). All-cause and cardiovascular mortality was the primary end point, and HF re-hospitalization was the secondary end point during follow-up period.@*Results@#A total of 587 patients were included in final analysis. The all-cause mortality rates of patients with DM, IFG, and non-DM were 55.5%, 40.3%, and 39.2%, with significant difference (P = 0.001). Moreover, compared with those with IFG (34.3%) and non-DM (32.6%), patients with DM had significantly higher rate of cardiovascular mortality (45.1%). Multiple Cox regression analysis showed that DM as well as IFG was related to all-cause mortality (DM: hazard ratio [HR] = 1.936, P < 0.001; IFG: HR = 1.672, P = 0.019) and cardiovascular mortality (DM: HR = 1.739, P < 0.001; IFG: HR = 1.817, P = 0.013). However, they were both unrelated to HF re-hospitalization. DM patients with strictly controlled blood glucose (FPG <3.9 mmol/L) had higher all-cause mortality than patients with non-DM, IFG, and DM patients with moderately controlled glucose (3.9 mmol/L≤ FPG <7.0 mmol/L). Likewise, both the primary end point and secondary end point were found to be worse in DM patients with poorly controlled blood glucose (FPG ≥7.0 mmol/L).@*Conclusions@#IFG and DM were associated with higher all-cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality in patients with acute HF. The association between mortality and admission FPG in DM patients with acute HF appeared U-shaped.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To investigate the protective effect and mechanisms of luteolin-7-O-β-d-glucuronide (LGU) on oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD)-induced H9C2 cardiomyocytes injury. METH-ODS The protective effect of LGU on OGD-induced H9C2 cardiomyocytes death were investigated by MTT assay. The microfilament change of H9C2 cardiomyocytes was detected by phalloidin staining and the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) leakage rate was also detected by LDH kit. In order to explore the possible mechanisms of LGU, ATP content, intracellular Ca2+fluorescent intensity and concentra-tion, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP)and the expressions of apoptosis-related proteins were detected by ATP kit,CLSM(Fluo-3/AM probe),Ca2+kit,CLSM(JC-1 probe)and western blotting meth-od, respectively. RESULTS The inhibition of H9C2 cardiomyocyte survival rate inducedby OGD was improvedby pretreated with LGU in a concentrationdependent manner. The microfilaments injury as well as the increase of LDH leakage rate were also improvedby pretreated with LGU.The ATP content was significantly decreased, intracellular Ca2+fluorescent intensity and concentration were significantly increased and the MMP was significantly decreased 4 hafter OGD. LGU significantly reversed the de-crease of intracellular ATP content, the increase of Ca2+fluorescent intensity and concentration and the decrease of MMP.The release of cytochrome C,the expressionsof caspase-9 and caspase-3 in H9C2 cardiomyocytes were increased 16 h after OGD.LGUsignificantly inhibited the changes of these apop-tosis-related proteins. CONCLUSION LGU has a significant protective effect against OGD-induced H9C2 cardiomyocytes injury through inhibiting calcium overload, increasing ATP content, improving mi-tochondrial function and inhibiting apoptosis.

ABSTRACT

Insulin resistance is "common soil" of many major cardiovascular diseases, such as diabetes, coronary heart disease, hypertension and heart failure. Recent studies have revealed that, in addition to metabolic modulation, insulin exerts direct cardiovascular protective effects. This article reviews the current progresses in the pathogenesis and cardiovascular protection strategies of metabolic cardiovascular diseases, and highlights the mechanism of actions of insulin in cardiovascular protection.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate anti-oxidant activities of the n-butanol extract of Boschniakia rossica (BEBR), and preliminarily determine the material basis of its antioxidant activities. Methods Antioxidant activities of different polarity extraction of BEBR were performed by using 1,1-dipheny-2-trinitrophenylhydrazine (DPPH), 2,2-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid), diammonium salt (ABTS) radical scavenging assays and ferric reducing anti-oxidant power as the index. The aging rats induced by D-galactose were used as models to investigate the effects of different n-butanol extract parts on the content of MDA and the activity of SOD and CAT in liver tissue; The chemical composition of BEBR was preliminarily analyzed by HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS/MS. Results BEBR had good scavenging effect on free radicals of DPPH and ABTS, and well performation in ferrous reduction experiments of FRAP determination. Compared with the model group, all indexes of MDA, SOD, and CAT in liver tissues of rats from different dose groups with BEBR were significantly improved (P < 0.01), which showed that levels of MDA reduced, the activity of SOD and CAT increased and back to above normal levels. The anti-oxidant activity in vivo showed in a dose-dependent manner. Nineteen chemical constituents were tentatively characterized by HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS/MS, of which 14 were phenylpropanoid glycosides (PPGs). Conclusion BEBR has good anti-oxidant effects and PPGs are the main active constituents.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To investigate the neuroprotective effect and possible mechanisms of lute-olin-7-O-β-D-glucuronide (LGU) against focalcerebral ischemic injury. METHODS The focal cerebral ischemic injury model was established by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). Male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham group, model group(MCAO),LGU group(0.24,0.72 and 2.16 mg·kg-1)and positive control group(Edaravone at 5 mg·kg-1).LGU was injected intravenously 30 min after MCAO.Neurological severity score, infarct volume and brain water content were detected 24 h after MCAO and the levels of Na+-K+ATPase,Ca2+ATPase,TNF-α and IL-1β were detected to explore the possible mechanisms. For the therapeutic time window test,LGU(0.72 mg·kg-1)was injected intrave-nously 0.5, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 h respectively after MCAO. To evaluate motion behavior, LGU were injected intravenously 30 min after MCAO and once per day during detection period. The changes of motor coordination were detected by rotating rod method and grip strength analysis, and the changes of gaits were detected using DigiGait Imaging System. RESULTS LGU improved the neurological severity score, infarct volume ratio and brain water content. The therapeutic time window of LGU for cerebral infarction and brain edema was at least 6 h and for neurological dysfunction was 12 h.LGU also prolonged the latency on rotarod, increased the forelimb tension and improved 8 gait parameters, including stance duration, stride length, stance width, paw area, paw area variability, gait symmetry, ataxia coefficient and tau propulsion.Furthermore,LGU increased Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase levels in the cortex and hippocampus in the ischemic side, reduced the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in the serum. CONCLUSION LGU has a significant neuroprotective effect against cerebral ischemic injury via improving energy metabolism and reducing inflammation.

ABSTRACT

We evaluated the role of IL-10- in IL-33-mediated cholesterol reduction in macrophage-derived foam cells (MFCs) and the mechanism by which IL-33 upregulates IL-10. Serum IL-33 and IL-10 levels in coronary artery disease patients were measured. The effects of IL-33 on intra-MFC cholesterol level, IL-10, ABCA1 and CD36 expression, ERK 1/2, Sp1, STAT3 and STAT4 activation, and IL-10 promoter activity were determined. Core sequences were identified using bioinformatic analysis and site-specific mutagenesis. The serum IL-33 levels positively correlated with those of IL-10. IL-33 decreased cellular cholesterol level and upregulated IL-10 and ABCA1 but had no effect on CD36 expression. siRNA-IL-10 partially abolished cellular cholesterol reduction and ABCA1 elevation by IL-33 but did not reverse the decreased CD36 levels. IL-33 increased IL-10 mRNA production but had little effect on its stability. IL-33 induced ERK 1/2 phosphorylation and increased the luciferase expression driven by the IL-10 promoter, with the highest extent within the −2000 to −1752 bp segment of the 5′-flank of the transcription start site; these effects were counteracted by U0126. IL-33 activated Sp1, STAT3 and STAT4, but only the STAT3 binding site was predicted in the above segment. Site-directed mutagenesis of the predicted STAT3-binding sites (CTGCTTCCTGGCAGCAGAA→CTGCCTGGCAGCAGAA) reduced luciferase activity, and a STAT3 inhibitor blocked the regulatory effects of IL-33 on IL-10 expression. Chromatin immunoprecipitation (CHIP) confirmed the STAT3-binding sequences within the −1997 to −1700 and −1091 to −811 bp locus regions. IL-33 increased IL-10 expression in MFCs via activating ERK 1/2 and STAT3, which subsequently promoted IL-10 transcription and thus contributed to the beneficial effects of IL-33 on MFCs.

ABSTRACT

The present study was aimed to investigate the underlying mechanisms of the protective effect of proanthocyanidin (Pro) against hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) injury in H9C2 cells with a focus on Janus kinase 2/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (JAK2/STAT3) signaling pathway. H9C2 cells were randomly assigned to 5 groups, including the control group (Con), the H/R-injured group (H/R), the Pro-treated group (H/R+Pro), the JAK2 siRNA-treated group (H/R+Pro+JAK2 siRNA) and the JAK2 siRNA control group (H/R+JAK2 siRNA). The cells were pretreated with Pro (40 µmol/L) for 8 h before 2 h of hypoxia and 4 h of reoxygenation. Cellular viability and apoptosis rate were detected by MTT and TUNEL methods, and superoxide generation was measured. JAK2/STAT3 signaling, oxidative stress markers and endoplasmic reticulum stress markers were also detected by Western blot. We found that Pro treatment significantly improved cellular viability and reduced apoptosis rate in H/R-treated H9C2 cells. In addition, Pro treatment significantly up-regulated the phosphorylation levels of JAK2 and STAT3, down-regulated the superoxide generation, gp91, glucose-regulated protein 78 (GRP78), CCAAT/enhancer binding protein homologous protein (CHOP) and caspase-12 expression. However, these protective effects of Pro were all attenuated by JAK2 siRNA administration. Taken together, we demonstrated that Pro protects H9C2 cells against H/R-induced oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum stress injury via JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUNDMetabolic syndrome (MS) is a risk factor for stroke and thromboembolism event. Left atrial or LA appendage (LA/LAA) thrombus is a surrogate of potential stroke. The relationship between MS and atrial thrombus remains unclear. In this study, we sought to investigate the effect of MS on risk stratification of LA/LAA thrombus formation in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF).

METHODSThis cross-sectional study enrolled 294 consecutive NVAF patients without prior anticoagulant and lipid-lowering therapies. LA/LAA thrombus was determined by transesophageal echocardiography. Risk assessment of LA/LAA thrombus was performed using the CHADS2 , CHA2DS2 -VASc, MS, CHADS2 -MS, and CHA2DS2 -VASc-MS scores. Logistic regression analyses were performed to determine which factors were significantly related to LA/LAA thrombus. Odds ratio (OR) including 95% confidence interval was also calculated. The predictive powers of different scores for the risk of LA/LAA thrombus were represented by C-statistics and compared by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis.

RESULTSLA/LAA thrombi were identified in 56 patients (19.0%). Logistic analysis showed that MS was the strongest risk factor for LA/LAA thrombus in NVAF patients (OR = 14.698, P < 0.001). ROC curve analyses revealed that the C-statistics of CHADS2 -MS and CHA2DS2 -VASc-MS was significantly higher than those of CHADS2 and CHA2DS2 -VASc scores (CHADS2 -MS vs. CHADS2 , 0.807 vs. 0.726, P = 0.0019). Furthermore, MS was helpful for identifying individuals with a high risk of LA/LAA thrombus in the population with a low risk of stroke (CHADS2 or CHA2DS2 -VASc score = 0).

CONCLUSIONSMS is associated with LA/LAA thrombus risk in patients with NVAF. In addition to the CHADS2 and CHA2DS2 -VASc scores, the CHADS2 -MS and CHA2DS2 -VASc-MS scores provide additional information on stroke risk assessment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the role of tendon synovial sheaths in tendon regeneration in vivo. Methods Thirty-six Roman chicken were randomly divided into Group A and B, with 18 chicken in each group. In Group A, the synovial sheaths of the deep flexor tendons in the left middle toes were separated from the up, right and down side without cutting off the tendons themselves. The allograft decellularized tendons were coated with synovial sheaths which were detached partly and fixed on the left side of the normal deep flexor tendons in the middle toes of the left foot. In Group B, the allograft decellularized tendons were directly implanted on the left side of the deep flexor tendons without coating of synovial sheaths. The normal deep flexor tendons from the right foot were used as the control group. The maximum loads and elastic modulus of the tendons at 4th, 8th and 12th week were obtained by mechanical testing, and HE staining was conducted to observe histological changes of the tendons. Results The maximum load at 8th and 12th week and elastic modulus at 4th, 8th and 12th week in Groups A were greater than those in Group B, with significant differences (P<0.05). Group A showed more densely deposited matrices and longitudinally aligned collagen fibers than Group B, and inflammatory cells and fibrous tissues could hardly be found in Group A. In Group B, the collagen fibers were decreased gradually, with disordered alignment. Furthermore, more inflammatory cells infiltration and hyperplasia of fibrous tissues were found in Group B. Conclusions The synovial sheaths can contribute to tendon regeneration, indicating that a proper environment in vivo plays an important role in the engineered tendons. This study has a positive effect on finding proper tendon replacements for patients with tendon deficiency.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo compare differences of clinical therapeutic effect of heat-sensitive moxibustion with different doses for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

METHODSSixty cases of IBS were randomly divided into a saturated-dose group (30 cases) and a traditional-dose group (30 cases). Heat-sensitive moxibustion was applied in both groups. The acupoints that had the strongest heat-sensitive feeling were selected and treated by warm and suspended moxibustion with moxa stick. Disappearance of heat-sensitive feeling was taken as the sign of treatment time in the saturated-dose group, while the traditional-dose group was treated for 15 min each time. The treatment in both groups was given twice a day for first 5 days, and from the sixth day it was given once a day for continuous 25 times, totally 30 days. Clinical symptom scores and therapeutic effect before and after treatment in two groups were observed.

RESULTSAfter the treatment, the cured and markedly effective rate was 75.0% (21/28) in the saturated-dose group, which was inferior to 44.4% (12/27) in the traditional-dose group (P < 0.05). The clinical symptom scores, including diarrhea, abdominal distension and pain, were obviously reduced in two groups compared with those before the treatment (all P < 0.05). Compared with the traditional-dose group, the symptom scores of diarrhea and abdominal distension in the saturated-dose group were obviously decreased (0.87 +/- 0.13 vs 1.27 +/- 0.21, P < 0.01; 1.12 +/- 0.41 vs 1.32 +/- 0.26, P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe moxibustion featured with disappearance of heat-sensitive feeling and saturated dose has better therapeutic effect than that with traditional-dose for treatment of IBS. As individual dynamic amount of moxibustion, disappearance of heat-sensitive and quantitation varies from person to person, which is one of the key factors to obtain the best curative effect.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUNDReactive oxygen species are thought to contribute to the development of renal damage. The P22phox subunit of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NAPDH) oxidase, encoded by the cytochrome b245a polypeptide gene, CYBA, plays a key role in superoxide anion production. We investigated the association of CYBA rs7195830 polymorphism with estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and the role it plays in the pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in a Han Chinese sample.

METHODSThe Gaoyou study enrolled 4473 participants. Serum levels of creatinine were measured and eGFR was estimated using the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration equations. The CYBA polymorphisms were genotyped. Then we investigated the association between eGFR and the rs7195830 polymorphism in the recessive model.

RESULTSThe AA genotype of rs7195830 was associated with significantly lower values of eGFR compared with the GG and AG genotypes ((102.76 ± 17.07) ml×min(-1)×1.73 m(-2) vs. (105.08 ± 16.30) ml×min(-1)± 1.73 m(-2)). The association remained significant in the recessive model after adjusting for age, gender, body mass index, smoking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, uric acid, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (β=1.666, P=0.031). The rs7195832 AA genotype was an independent risk factor for CKD: eGFR <60 ml×min(-1)×1.73 m(-2) (odds ratio=3.32; 95% CI=1.21-9.13).

CONCLUSIONThe AA genotype of rs7195830 is independently associated with lower estimated glomerular filtration rate and is significantly associated with CKD.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo observe the distribution characteristics of heat-sensitized acupoints in the high incidence region of heat sensitization on the body surface of the patients with trigeminal neuralgia.

METHODSSixty cases of trigeminal neuralgia were collected and 60 healthy subjects were in the control. With moxibustion sensitization method to detect the heat-sensitized acupoints, the probability of the heat-sensitized acupoints in the high incidence region of heat sensitization on the body surface was analyzed and the correlation between the heat-sensitized acupoints and trigeminal neuralgia was discussed.

RESULTS(1) The occurrence rate of the heat-sensitized acupoints in the high incidence region of heat sensitization in patients with trigeminal neuralgia was 83.3% (50/60). (2) The occurrence rate of the heat-sensitized acupoints was high in the site of Xiaguan (ST 7) and Sibai (ST 2), and was secondarily high in the site of Jiachengjiang (Extra), Fengchi (GB 20) and Yuyao (EX-HN 4) in the high incidence region of heat sensitization in patients with trigeminal neuralgia.

CONCLUSIONThe heat-sensitized acupoints are highly correlative with trigeminal neuralgia, which provides the evidence for the further study on prevention and treatment of trigeminal neuralgia with heat-sensitive moxibustion.
